What is my brand supposed to be?

This is a common question for those just starting out.  The answer is simple.  Your brand is supposed to be whatever you want it to be because your brand is you. Your brand is on display in every conversation you have and every time you walk in a room.  The better question to ask is “What do I want to be known for?”

Is a personal brand the same thing as personal branding?

In my opinion, they are not.  A personal brand is you.  It's your strengths, traits, and values all rolled up into the person that is you. Personal branding, on the other hand, is the intentional act of telling the world who you are and how you add value. This can be done in a number ways, today, however, it is most effectively done by building your digital brand.

How do I start building my brand?
