Welcome to the BRAND new you show. You’ve found THE podcast dedicated to helping you build your brand.
We meet here each week to talk about the strategies and tools that you can use to grow your influence, amplify your online reputation and ultimately impact your career.
In today's show, we celebrate yet another milestone here on the show, the one year mark. That’s right, 369 days ago the BRAND new you show first appeared in iTunes.
And just like with show 50, it’s all because of you listeners.
As I reflect back on a year of podcasting I can tell you it has been a truly fantastic ride. Podcasting has opened up an entire world to me that, frankly, I didn’t even know existed.
And I’m not referring to some secret underground thing here, I’m actually referring to the world that opens up to you when you lean in just past your comfort zone, as Danny Flood from show 52 told us.
The personal growth and development I have experienced has been life changing.

When I think back to my first interview with Tim Saumier for show 4 and how nervous I was even though Tim and I had spoken many times before.
Despite that, I can hear the fear and uncertainty in my voice.
Since the start I’ve interviewed 42 subject matters experts for the show and I still get nervous before I hit record.
I do think, I’ve started find my “groove” if you will, but I know still have a long way to go before I feel natural behind a microphone.
Every time I settle in behind the mic for an interview or solo show, believe it or not even after 55 shows, I still have to shake off the feelings of self-doubt in order to push past my comfort zone.
Speaking of my comfort zone, I’m going to start “leaning in” again in order to push my comfort zone a little bit more with this podcast.
You may have noticed that I’ve started to change things up a little bit on the show. I’ve started playing with the introduction a little. I expect to tweak a few more times before I nail it down, but that’s part of the learning as you go.
My goal with this change is to get you into the content sooner which is a minor change I know, but I have a bigger change planned for 2016.
Starting in February, I will be releasing a second episode during the week. The episode will drop on Tuesday’s and will be tactical in nature, designed to give you specific actions you can take that week to amplify your online reputation.
This Build Your Own Brand, or BYOB for short, episode will be limited to between 10 and 15 minutes in order to make sure I stay focused on giving you bite-sized chunks of actionable tips and tactics.
All of these episodes will be solo, that’s right just you and me, chatting about the best ways for us to build our brands online and offline.
And since it’ll be just you and I chatting, I really want you to be a part of helping me shape the tactical Tuesday show so I’ve set up a special email address where you can send me your suggestions and ideas on topics you would like to learn more about.
You give the suggestion. I do the research. You tune back in to listen, learn and take action. It can’t any more simple than that.
So if you have suggestions for topics or even guests you like to hear from on the regular Thursday show send an email to rlrhoten@gmail.com or if you prefer, go to ryanrhoten.com/podcast.
On the right side of the page, you’ll see a button labeled “Send Voicemail”. If you click that button, you can leave me a voicemail with your suggestion. If you do this I’ll feature you on the show asking your question.
That’s going to wrap us up for this Christmas eve edition of the podcast. If you celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas to you where ever you are in the world.
And even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, Remember this is the time of the year for reflection. So take a few minutes over these next couple of weeks and look back at all you accomplished in 2015. I guarantee it’s more than you probably think.
As we close out 2015, don’t just look back, take the time to look ahead into 2016. What are your ambitions and dreams for the year ahead?
As you consider what 2016 will look like for you remember what Albert Einstein said:
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”
So what are your goals for 2016?
